Re-purposed Cake Stand
Recipe
Vintage plate I purchased from Salvation Army Thrift Store for 1.00.
Glass candlestick I purchased from The Dollar Tree for 1.00.
Acrylic paint ( I mixed the yellow to the shade I needed).
Glass glue.
Clear finish spray. I used KRYLON ColorMaster Acrylic Crystal Gloss (dries in 10 minutes or less).
Paint your candlestick or whatever base you are using, let dry I used about 3 to 4 applications of paint. When dry Spray with your acrylic spray. When completely dry find center of bottom of plate ( measured and then sat my candlestick on it and traced around it. Apply glue on the inside of tracing lie to plate and to the edge of candlestick that will rest against the plate. Carefully attach. I did this with the plate face down on the table. When it looks like it is centered wipe any excess glue away with paper towel. I sat a small cast iron skillet on top of the candlestick and left for 24 hours. WA-LA a beautiful new cake stand.
That's it! Fun. Easy. Beautiful.
Let your imagination soar. I hope you try this fun project. What beautiful and one of a kind gift for someone.
