Sympathy Card

Good evening everyone, I hope you had a nice day!   We are anticipating COLD weather this weekend, BRRRRRR. I am planning a nice big pot of homemade vegetable beef soup and cornbread YUM!
I am posting a sympathy card I made (actually made 3) some dear friends who lost their brother on Thanksgiving day. They were very close friends, Sue was my very best friend when I was a teenager. Her little sister Debbie and her brother Gary were good friends as well. Ray, the brother that passed away (due to complications of pneumonia) was like a big brother to me and was so much fun to be around. I remember him dancing around and just being a big old goof ball. The family is in shock, and he will be missed.
I don't like making sympathy due to the nature of what they are for. I wanted a special card and took to good old Pinterest for inspiration.  I found one like this and really liked it so made one like it (I'm sorry that I don't know the person that designed it to give them credit).
 I love the embossed background....
And the sweet bird on the branch.
I added sheer silver ribbon (which was not on the one I saw).
I kept the sentiment short and to the point and then wrote my own personal message.
I really love how they turned out.           Thank you for stopping by and have a great evening!

  2. Beautiful card. So sorry for the loss of your friend. It's doubly difficult to loose someone around a holiday. I don;t think the holiday is ever the same again. Your card is gorgeous. I love the embossing. I too have a tough time with sympathy cards and wish I would make them ahead of time. But I rarely do. Take care with the cold. Ours has arrived. It's been dropping all day. We have the fire going and a big pot of soup sounds really good!
