Rock I Painted for My Dad's 91st Birthday

I just wanted to share with you a rock that I painted for my dad. He will be 91 next month. He was born and  raised in the the mountains of Western North Carolina (he lives in Florida now). He loves nature, birds, plants and animals. When I was a little girl I loved to go on nature walks with him. I was wondering what in the world I could get him for his birthday, he has everything. I decided I would give him a little piece of the mountains.
I love the shape of the rock. I found it in the creek. I wandered all over that creek trying to find the perfect rock. Later that day as we sat by the waters edge I gazed across the water and saw a snake swimming close to the bank. I tell you, I was ready to go then!
.Here is an up close shot of the little bear behind the tree and the rhododendron. I even put a lilac bush next to the farmhouse.
The rock fits perfectly in the easel so he can set it up to admire it. I hope you have enjoyed seeing my painted rock. I found a few smaller ones, so maybe sometime soon you will see those too.
