I had to share some photos with you all. After Thanksgiving dinner we drove up to Cataloochee to see the Elk. They were beautiful and everywhere! One walked right up to my Jeep window. Of course I had to take a picture of turkeys on Thanksgiving. I'm sure they were thankful!! I also loved this mountain scene. It was a beautiful day!

I bet the scenery was just awesome! How wonderful to be able to take a nature drive and see what all the world is blessed with. I agree the 'Gobble-gobbles' are very thankful they still have their heads attached to their necks. LOL

OK....just shared these with my hubby. He said, "I wonder if this is a park or reserve where they are safe from hunters." I am guessing he is correct. Just beautiful animals! And yes, those particular turkeys were certainly grateful that they weren't on our dining room tables this year! Maybe next...LOL

They are in part of the Smokey Mountains National Park so, yes they are well protected.
